In this month when lavender stains purple fields that are lost on the horizon, good weather invites you to enjoy the outdoors and nature.

At the same time, the offer of summer courses arouses curiosity to learn new things or delve into what we lack time for during the rest of the year. Maybe you dare to participate in an event in defense of the environment. What plans do you have? Do you join any of ours?

No plastic bags

We have to rethink our relationship with plastic, there is no other. If you are still not one of those who say “No bag, please” try doing it on World No Plastic Bag Day and get used to carrying your own when you go shopping. The planet will thank you.

International Soil Conservation Day

This day was established in memory of Dr. Hugh Hammond Bennet (April 15, 1881 – July 7, 1960) who was an American researcher who constantly worked in search of the preservation of the integrity of the natural resource soil.

He dedicated his efforts to achieve an increase in the production of the land through its greater protection and worked incessantly to raise awareness of the benefits of its proper management and protection.

Nature train

Discover nature in its splendor a few kilometers from Madrid, traveling in the ecological means of transport par excellence: the train. It is an environmental education program to enter the Sierra de Guadarrama National Park.

You will know and study the nature of the Madrid mountains, not only as a spectator, but as an integral part of the environment.

The harvest and the threshing

It’s time to pick up the cereal. Now the harvesters do it, but in the past it was an event in peasant life. To recover the memory of the haystacks, sheaves and bales, in some towns in Spain they revive the tasks of mowing and threshing and then celebrate a popular festival.

The Catalan municipalities of Avià, La Fuliola, Santa Eulàlia de Riuprimer or Forallac do it, with a festival “del segar i del batre”, but also Albelda and Colungo, in Huesca, or El Tanque, in Tenerife.

Lavender festival

The flowering lavender covers fields and gardens purple late spring. Famous are the vast expanses of lavender in French Provence, which have inspired painters so much. But we have another small “Provence” closer.

In Brihuega, in the La Alcarria region, more than a thousand hectares are also dressed in purple. There are hiking trails and visits to distilleries that obtain their relaxing essential oil, as well as concerts and gastronomy.

Healthy Art Festival

Arte Sano Festival, one of the most popular alternative festivals on the Costa del Sol, celebrates its fourteenth edition on the seafront, Playa La Salida, in San Pedro Alcántara.

Barcelona Yoga Conference

Barcelona celebrates the 9th edition of the Barcelona Yoga Conference, a meeting dedicated to all yoga lovers. For four days the city will host activities with yoga teachers and musicians from around the world.

Among the most outstanding activities: the Kirtan concert of Krishna Das and the intensive course of Prana Flow by Shiva Rea.

Delta details

The Ebro Delta is a special territory that hides many surprises. One of its treasures is the sunset and the sunsets. During the summer months MónNatura will organize the best sunsets from the 360º viewpoint, next to the Tancada Lagoon, with views that reach the Port and the Serra del Montsià.

In addition, they propose the “Details of the Delta”, where a wandering character tells stories about the people, the landscape and the gastronomy of the Delta.

The largest collection of cigarette butts in history

No more cigarette butts on the ground in Barcelona repeats its collaborative event this summer. On July 7, 2018, they collected a total of 270,000 cigarette butts ; So far it has been the largest collection of cigarette butts in Spain.

This year they want to exceed that number and set a new record for the planet by collecting 1 million cigarette butts. The purpose is to denounce the environmental damage of cigarette butts on Planet Earth. To participate you will only need to bring a bottle / carafe, some gloves and go out to collect cigarette butts.

  • Where: In Espigó del Gas, Barceloneta beach, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
