The star ingredient in this smoothie is pumpkin, which is accompanied by spices. Its rich aroma of cinnamon brings back memories of pleasant and warm family evenings.

Pumpkin, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg

Pumpkin is rich in beta-carotene, which are antioxidants linked to the prevention of prostate and colon cancers. In the body they are converted into vitamin A, the precursor of white blood cells, which are part of the immune system.

Pumpkin also contains vitamins C and E, which contributes to skin care and eye health.

Cinnamon and cloves are two spices with anticoagulant properties that improve blood circulation and help oxygenate the cells of the body. Cinnamon also has the ability to regulate blood sugar levels, prevent type 2 diabetes and be antiseptic and anti-inflammatory, so it is recommended in case of infections.

The nutmeg has positive properties for the digestive system, relieves flatulence and indigestion and improves states of diarrhea, nausea or hypotension. But you should not take more than one teaspoon a day: it can cause hallucinations and other psychotropic disorders.

  • 2 cups of pumpkin
  • 1 banana
  • 3 dates
  • ¼ tablespoon cinnamon
  • ¼ tablespoon ground ginger
  • A pinch of nutmeg, cloves and salt
  • 1 cup of hemp milk

For the topping :

  • cinnamon powder
  • pumpkin zest

preparation:

  1. You can use the pumpkin raw. In this case you must cut it into cubes. But if you want a creamier texture, I recommend boiling it for about 15 minutes and mashing it.
  2. Peel the banana and pit the dates.
  3. Pour the hemp milk into the blender along with all the ingredients and beat them for 10 seconds or more until you get a finer consistency if you don’t want any lumps.
