On vacation you have a lot of free time and the body takes center stage.

Taking the opportunity to relax and take care of yourself, without the pressure of the clock, can be a way to enjoy summer even more.

Both skin and hair appreciate natural care adapted to the hot months and dispensed with care.

But, in addition, spending time without haste, paying attention to the present and listening to your own body, helps you feel better and provides health benefits that go beyond the skin.

We propose four simple cures for hair, face, body and feet that can be done at home.

You will achieve a radiant and vital appearance without needing hardly anything: a few natural ingredients, a relaxing space and the desire to spend a pleasant time with yourself.

A little order, some candles, incense or a lavender scented burner help to give warmth to the bathroom. Make sure you have everything you need on hand, turn off the phone and enjoy.

1. Gleaming and relaxed face

The most important thing to take care of the skin of the face in summer is to keep it hydrated and use sun protection.

If it’s already done, a moisturizing face mask at home each week will give you a brighter, smoother look. It can be applied taking advantage of the moment of the bath.

  • Before getting into the bath, wash your face with a mild milk.
  • Apply a hydrating mask suitable for your skin type, avoiding the eye contour, and cut two slices of cucumber.
  • In the bathtub close your eyes and cover them with cucumber. In addition to refreshing, this gesture helps to deflate the skin around the eyes, so sensitive and prone to inflammation.
  • Dampen a small towel with cool water when you get out of the tub and wipe your face with it.
  • Gently pat dry and apply a hydrating eye contour

2. Honey and roses for the body

In the morning rush, it ‘s easy to forget to hydrate your body. And at night, tiredness can sometimes be stronger than discipline.

However, the skin of the body needs water and more in summer; otherwise it dries and flakes easily. Good vacation care can restore its silky feel.

  • Shower at night, without rushing, and use oatmeal or seaweed soap to tone the skin.
  • If you’ve been to the pool or the beach, apply aloe vera gel all over your body, emphasizing sensitive areas such as the face, shoulders, and insteps of the feet.
  • Once a week, take a hydrating bath. Add a tablespoon of honey to the bath water and 5 drops of rose essence.
  • Enjoy the water for about 20 minutes and dry well when you go out, but without rubbing the skin.
  • Hydrate your entire body well with your favorite cream or oil, especially your neck, elbows, knees, and feet.

Another option is to apply a green clay mask, which, in addition to hydrating, revitalizes the skin by providing mineral salts.

You can also add the clay to the bath water, which should be around 37 or 38 ÂșC. It stays for 15 or 20 minutes and dries the skin without rinsing or rubbing.

3. Fresh and rested feet

In summer, with months of sandals ahead, it is not advisable to neglect your feet. A refreshing bath for them is the best way to start or end the day.

You need a basin full of fresh water, a splash of vinegar (apple vinegar smells better), and three tablespoons of magnesium sulfate (or even coarse salt).

Also have a towel, an orange stick, a pair of scissors or nail clippers, a file, a pumice stone, and a foot cream or oil on hand.

  • Add the vinegar and salts to the water in the basin . Put the basin at the foot of a comfortable chair or couch with the towel next to it, and if you have nail polish on your toenails, remove it.
  • Dip your feet and relax for as long as you need. You will feel the cold water, but after the first impression it will make you feel good, especially if, due to the heat, your feet are swollen.
  • The salts help reduce swelling and vinegar is an excellent fungicide.
  • Take a foot out of the water. Cut and file nails, push cuticles and remove calluses with a pumice stone. Come back when you dip your foot into the refreshing bath. Do the same with the other.
  • Dry your feet well, apply the cream or oil, and hold your feet up for a while, letting them rest a bit more.

With this bath, the feet feel fresh and full of energy, although it is not recommended if there are cracks or open wounds in this part of the body.

4. Intense hydration of the hair

This simple mask gives shine and softness to all hair types.

You only need a damp towel, 4 tablespoons of olive oil and 5 drops of tea tree essential oil.

  • Heat the olive oil with the tea tree oil in a bowl in a water bath.
  • Put the towel in the dryer, when it is dry and hot take it out.
  • Apply the oils to damp hair and massage the entire scalp, drawing circles and pressing lightly.
  • Roll up the hot towel tightly. Lie down for a while, take a bath or read a book – you have 20 minutes to relax.
  • Wash your hair with a mild shampoo, detangle it with a wooden comb, and let it air dry.

The tea tree cleanses the scalp, while the olive oil leaves it hydrated.
